Interactive Data Visualization Challenge
π Welcome to the first Metapages Weekly Science Challenge!
We're excited to launch our first weekly (in a series) challenge focused on creating engaging, interactive scientific visualizations. For this first challenge, we offer using classic datasets.
The goal is to expose this open science platform to users, showcasing itβs powerful browser-based computation and visualization capabilities and learning what users can create with it.
π― The Challengeβ
Using the metapage.io platform, create an interactive scientific visualization workflow using one of three classic datasets. Your creation should combine compelling visual storytelling with meaningful user interaction to reveal insights within the data.
π Dataset Optionsβ
Choose one of the following classic datasets:
- Palmer Penguins Dataset
- Contains measurements for three penguin species
- Features: body mass, flipper length, bill dimensions, and more
- Perfect for exploring relationships between physical characteristics
- [Download Link: https://archive.ics.uci.edu/dataset/690/palmer+penguins-3]
- Restaurant Tips Dataset
- Real-world tipping behavior in restaurants
- Features: total bill, tip amount, day of week, time of day, party size
- Perfect for exploring customer behavior patterns and service economics
- Available via seaborn.load_dataset('tips')
- Air Quality Dataset
- Hourly measurements of air pollutants in an Italian city
- Features: CO, NO2, temperature, humidity, and other pollutants
- Perfect for temporal analysis and environmental pattern discovery
