Workflows forever: how to persist in time your organizational knowledge
At an organization, when a project ends, the output is often figures, spreadsheets, data analysis. For more technical organizations, it might include AI models, both creating and using models, simulations, models, interactive visualization.

These final artifacts usually cannot be easily reproduced after some time, as people have moved on, and tools change. It's often resource prohibitive to fully document how to reproduce both the workflows and the outputs of the workflows. It may be missing skills, technology, process, procedures, data, and there are no clear standards or tools how to preserve models and simulations so that recreating or re-running them trivial.
This is a form of knowledge and organization decay. A natural process, but frustrating, as so much value is created, that then rapidly becomes lost to time. Valuable simulations and models are unable to be re-used, because the recreation of workflows is not built into the creation of workflows.
Metapages are built specifically for persisting complex workflows
There is a direct relationship between persistence and communication: you can communicate more if the message is compressed. A compressed message needs to be unpacked: and there is the relationship.
Metapages are workflows, built for the browser, combining visualization and compute, and crucially: the have a solution for where to run large high-performance computation.
Why the browser? Because it's the most common consistent compute environment that we all have instant access to. Browsers will be around for the foreseeable future, and every single person has easy access to a secure browser. There is no other compute environment that comes close. If you have a browser, you can reliably run a metapage workflow forever.
How do I use these workflows in my organization?
Just create one, and embed it. Most organization documentation platforms, such as Sharepoint, Confluence, Notion, MediaWiki allow you simply past URLs as embeds. Create your data analysis, visualizations, interactive simulations, model results in the metapage platform, and when you save a version, we will persist it in immutable storage. Whenever you come back, the workflow will be restored, computation will run, simulations in motion, visualizations interactive: no installations, no configuration, no complexity. Just click and a workflow from years ago will reliably and predictably run exactly as it did back then.
